Jennifer Garner is a West Virginia native, born in Houston on the 17th of April, 1972. William John Garner worked as a chemist for Union Carbide. Patricia Ann Garner taught in a college near her. She graduated with a degree in chemical engineering, aiming to imitate her father. However, because she wanted to follow her dream of becoming an actor, she relocated to New York to try her luck in the movies. Her Broadway role was accompanied by a stint at a local establishment. She was in a minor part in the film "Felicity" (where she also encountered Scott Foley). Garner got her first big role in "13 Goin' on 30" the romantic comedy well-received. Garner played a teenage woman trapped in her body as an adult. Garner chose Gary Winick for the role as director. The two continued working in other films up to the time Winick passed away in 2011.
