Nadia and Carol

Nadia Comaneci (Gheorghe Gheorghiu Dej, now Onesti) Romanian Gymnast born November 12, 1961. She was the first Romanian to be awarded a score of 10 for the Olympic event. Bela Karolyi, later Romanian gymnastics coach, discovered Comaneci as she was only seven years old. The first time she competed was at the national junior championships in which she was 13th place in the year 1969. In 1970, she took home the title. She took home three golds at her first competition in a junior pre-Olympic meeting in 1972, which was a communist bloc countries. In 1973 and 1974, she was the junior champion in all-round competitions. The athlete won four golds and one silver in her senior debut international competition which took place in the year 1975. This was her first time she had competed as an adult. She was the first female ever to successfully perform reverse double saltos when dismounting from an uneven parallel bar. The story of Carol Wayne in the world of entertainment started as a teenager. With her twin sister Nina Wayne, she joined touring entertainment programs known as Ice Capades. Carol Marie Wayne was a born on the 6th of September 1942 in Chicago, Illinois. Carol was a professional as an entertainer in her teens. Early on Carol was an ice figure skater in traveling shows Ice Capades with her sister Nina Wayne. Ice Capades featured performances of skating on ice by actors.
